Making Digital Documents Talk for the Vision Impaired

Posted by: Jeff Mills on December 21, 2023

Have you ever wondered why we chose to name our company after the common grackle? It’s because the grackle is not just any bird; it’s an intelligent one, and it talks! In much the same way, GrackleDocs is on a mission to bring intelligence and voice to all electronic documents, making them accessible to the vision-impaired community.

Our primary goal at GrackleDocs is to ensure that all electronic documents are easily accessible to those with visual impairments. We achieve this mission by harnessing the power of standard screen reader technology such as NVDA & JAWS. Just like the grackle’s ability to communicate, we believe that electronic documents should speak to those who cannot see them.

What sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to affordability and effectiveness. We firmly believe that the information contained in digital documents should be accessible to the vision impaired without breaking the bank. Our innovative solutions are designed to make this a reality.

“When an electronic document has been Grackled, it talks!”

At GrackleDocs, we take pride in our work. When we Grackle a document, it means that we’ve made it not only accessible but also functional for those who rely on screen readers. This transformation ensures that vital information is no longer locked away in the digital realm but can be heard and understood by everyone.

Having recently acquired Abledocs, we have bolstered our efforts even further. With this acquisition, we have expanded our client base to over 400 organizations who trust us to Grackle their electronic documents to meet both legal and practical requirements for document accessibility.

Our journey to make digital documents more inclusive is ongoing, and we are proud of the strides we’ve made so far. We invite you to join us in our mission to bridge the gap between digital information and those who deserve to access it. Together, we can empower the vision-impaired community and make the digital world a more inclusive place.

Stay tuned for more exciting developments from GrackleDocs as we continue to make electronic documents talk, just like our namesake, the intelligent and chatty grackle!
