    Session Description

    In this session, participants will learn about the ins and outs of accessibility as it relates to the digital space, particularly documents. It will focus on:

    • Assistive technology (AT),
    • Understanding what PDF/UA is and how it helps make documents accessible,
    • Different document types and their role within accessibility
    • Accessibility best practices, and
    • An overview of tools that are used to help ensure accessible and compliant documents.
  • Accessibility in Communications

    Length: 90 minutes

    Session Description

    In this session, participants will learn tips and tricks on how to ensure communications and marketing materials are accessible and inclusive to everyone. This includes inclusive image selection, formatting, videos, podcasts, the difference between alternative text and image descriptions, and more!

  • Accessibility in Microsoft Word – Intermediate

    In this session, participants will build on their knowledge from the Basics of Microsoft Word Accessibility session, to create more complex accessible Word documents.

  • Accessibility in Social Media

    Length: 90 minutes

    Session Description

    In this session, participants will learn step-by-step how to create accessible social media content for LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. This will also cover accessibility issues and workarounds for common content like GIFs, emojis and ASCII art, while also covering third-party scheduling tools and their respective accessibility offerings.

  • Association of Guide Dogs in Lyon

    Our organization provides guide dogs free of charge to visually impaired people to help them navigate independently.

    But despite persistent efforts, we haven’t been able to teach our dogs to read. So, to produce documents that are accessible and easy to read for our beneficiaries, we associate a grackle with the dog.

    After exporting over 250 accessible PDFs in a month with Grackle Docs, I am impressed and relieved to have such a fabulous add-on to Google Docs. The Grackle Docs’ staff respond to support requests promptly, thoroughly and politely.

    As an educational non-profit with limited budgets, we looked for an affordable solution to implement Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 for our G Suite output and meet requirements for OCR compliance.

    We didn’t find anything else that would work as well, nor as inexpensively, as Grackle Suite to help us remediate our Google Docs, Sheets and Slides. My students who I teach accessibility to (Region 10 staff) like it and think it’s easy to learn and use. I highly recommend Grackle.
